T1 diabetic discontinues insulin on paleo diet

.

A case study: Tóth C, Clemens Z. Type 1 diabetes mellitus successfully managed with the paleolithic ketogenic diet. Int J Case Rep Images 2014;5(10):699–703.

This graph from the paper tells the whole story:

Curing an incurable disease, this is not supposed to be happening, they may even get sued (if they tried it here...)

This could simply be due to a Honeymoon effect.

I doubt it, look at Fig.1 (below) how sharp and permanent (i.e. no relapses) the transition of his blood glucose from "allover-the-place" to normal has become, the day he went from the usually recommended high carb to the ketogenic diet. Psychosomatic effects, from what I heard and seen some articles on hypnotherapies) tend to be more fuzzy and have relapses depending on the patient's mood.

I wonder just exactly what is a "paleolithic ketogenic diet".

Answer in the text if you read it:
"His diet consisted of meat, organ meat, fat and eggs."

Thank you. I had not clicked through to the abstract, but I can see I should have done that.

Nice paper Stan,

I believe crucifixion is the standard solution for the medics supervising this sort of heresy.

All the best

Peter

Hi Peter,
Not anymore, since more people realize that the "standard solution" only makes things worse! 8-:)
