It was a true conspiracy to defraud the public on a massive scale. I am surprized that it is still considered legal by most Americans and Canadians, some like Mr. Buffett even called it "smart business"! There is very little debate on it in public or in private. I am also surprized that whenever I begin talking about it to friends or colleagues at work - that is often me who is regarded as a "peace" disrupter. Most are addicted to poisons and toxic beliefs and they would rather die (than reconsider). In fact they do. There is nothing one can do about it other than "let people play it out if they want".

Stan

BTW - your post was initially removed by automatic spam cop, I reinstated it. If you post embedded links next time, it is better to camouflage them by removing http prefix, don't use the html 'a' tag and past them as pure ascii text. Consequently, in 1956 the American Heart Association (funded by Procter & Gamble, makers of the hydrogenated oil Crisco, and of which Keys was a board member) went on television to tell everyone that a diet which included large amounts of butter, lard, eggs, and beef would lead to coronary heart disease. Later Keys was put on the front page of Time magazine in 1961. This was around the beginning of the “low-fat diet”; it was later cemented by Senator McGovern in 1977 with his Senate Select Committee on Nutrition and Human Needs.

There was one big problem with all of this: Keys had selectively cherry picked the data and committed scientific fraud by deliberately leaving out data points to skew the research. He pointed to countries with low saturated fat intake and low heart disease, and countries with high saturated fat intake and high heart disease, and claimed a significant correlation. However, he omitted a very large amount of countries, almost all from Europe, that had high saturated fat intake and low heart disease."Bill Rizernoreply@blogger.com
